1. August Johannesson Edberg, b: 5/27/1853 on one of a collection of farms known locally as Vastergarden (meaning Gardens of the West), Edum Rote, Larv Parish, Skaraborg lan (county) in the Southern part of Sweden. He died 11/12/1924 in Belle Plaines, MN a nearby town to the village of East Union, MN. He is buried at the East Union Lutheran Church cemetery; the marker reads "August Edberg, 27 July, 1852- 12 November, 1924." The following e-mail was recieved recently: "I'm Shirley Hennessy, My son Scott Hennessy gave me your email address from the website. My grandmother was Emma Helen Edberg Johnson; her mother & father were Helen Johnsen Edberg and August Edberg. I remember being in their home in East Union, near Carver,MN when I was just a few years old in the late 1930's. August edberg was killed by a falling tree in the 1920's. Helen Edberg died at my grandmothers house in 1937 or 1939 of diabetes; they are both buried in the church cemetery in East Union. I remember Emma and Elmer Edberg (twins), Ardie Edberg, Walter Edberg, and an older siste who died in childbirth and whose name I do no know; I might be leaving out someone but I am not too sure who if any. You and I are related to the same August Edberg; I will be happy to share with you all the information I have- I do not know too much about August Edberg, but I do have some details and information"
2. Lotta (Lottie) Johanssesdotter Edberg Lottie came to America as a young girl with her parents and older brother August Johannesson Edberg. They came to East Union, Dahlgren twp., Carver County, MN, T115N-R24W Sec 35. There was also a West Union in Hancock twp, Carver county, MN T114N - R25W, section 1, 1881-1884. (located at the southern part of Lake Maria, near the towns of Gotha. Both East & West Union settlements are founded in 1858. Per the Compendium of History and Biography of Carver and Hennepin Counties, MN [1915] by R.I. Holcombe & Wm. H. Bingham: "West Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, in the NE part of the township, was organized by Rev. P.Carlson; a frame church was built before the Civil War." In the Carver County Historical publication In the Tracks of the Swedish Settlers in Carver County by Susanna Thilquist, in 1988, "The West Union congregation was organized in December 1858, about six months after East Union. The Union Settlement had expanded rapidly, especially to the west and south. The people in the west wished to have a closer church. The 2 churches were thus named East & West Union." (Union meant the intersection of 2 adjoining townships.)

I was born on our family farm in Ramsey Township north of Montrose, SD now occupied by Carsruds, 24468 Valley Rd, Montrose SD 57048. I was baptised in joint ceremonies with my Cousin Merland D Howe at Center 2/23/1930 as witnessed by Clara Wicklund Tidbloom & Gottner Johansson, a relative from Sweden.
I was lucky enough to marry JoAnn Moore and we have three children Dan, Dave & Teresa.

My father, Arvid "H." Anderson was born 14 OCT 1889 the only son of 13 children born to his parents. He died

My mother was Blanche Ellen Wicklund (see above) born 9/25/1888 in Dakota Territory before it became a State. She was baptised as "Blance (sic) Viklund (sic)" at Center Lutheran Church on 11/18/1888, confirmed under that same name at Center on 7/26/1903, married Arvid Anderson on 6/5/1913 moved to Michell 11/30/1936 and to Palo Alto, CA in 1943 after her only daughter died. Mother died of cancer on 10/5/1949 in Santa Clara, CA.

My neice is Patricia Ann Anderson born 23 OCT 1949 in Palo Alto, CA
My nephew is Richard Einar Anderson born 27 AUG 1945 in Palo Alto, CA
They are children of Vincent Einar Anderson born 15 MAR 1919; died 7 JUL 1962 in Palo Alto, Santa Clara, CA
He was born a twin to Ines Jeanette Hanson; christened "Iner Vincen Hanson" on 5/4/1920- - - 8 days later his
natural mother, Amanda Hanson (11/18/1880-5/8/1920) dies in an automobile collision; he is adopted by Arvid & Blanche Anderson. His natural mother & Carl Hanson also had an older male child John Lloyd Hanson (b. 9/19/10) and an older female child Alice Dorothea (DOROTHY STONE) b. 3/5/1919 who married Wayne Hueneke. Dorothy is in an Alzheimer Home being cared for by daughter Sandy Huneke Lovedahl. Vince was confirmed at Center 12/3/1933 transferred with parents to Mitchell 11/30/1936; after business college in Sioux Falls went to work as bookkeeper in a Ford Agency in Miller, SD; married and left for CA to pursue war work; after WW2 was a GM auditor and later zone sales manager until his death of cancer in 1962. Maynard is our brother.
Frances Verda Anderson was my sister. She was born 26 FEB 1924 and was baptised at Center 5/4/1924 as witnessed by grandparents John J.Wicklund & Lottie Edberg Wicklund. Verda died at age 18 & is buried at Center
Lutheran Church next to her Aunt Mayme & Uncle Ben Howe near her paternal and maternal grandparents.
